Output : Higher yield and a boost to adopt for the latest technologies as demonstrated by the KVK bharsar on ceraeals and vegetables.
Outcome Impact : Sh. Virender Singh Negi, vill- Chaid Talla, Block Pabou (Pauri Garhwal) was previously engaged in the traditional farming and cultivated wheat, paddy, finger millet etc in 30 nali or 0.6 ha (6000 m2). The productivity from these crops were low which resulted in his poor economic condition. He gave up farming to start a small shop but this was also not sufficient. He visited KVK Bharsar and enquired about better productivity of paddy and vegetable crops.
Scientist visited his field and suggested him to cultivate irrigated paddy VL 85 and apply neem coated urea in place of urea to minimize nutrient losses and also the hybrids of vegetables as FLD. Under the supervision of scientist he raised 10 nalis paddy and earned net profit of Rs. 22,400/-. He also raised off season vegetables like tomatoes, capsicum, french bean, cucumber, bottle gourd, capsicum, summer squash, brinjal, radish etc in 20 nalis. He has earned total net profit of Rs. 2.5 lakhs by selling theses vegetables and paddy. From this return he is planning to start new ventures like poultry and fishery along with farming. He is also planning to increase the area under cereal crops. His success story has inspired practicing farmers from his village and nearby villages to take up farming with revived enthusiasm.

Outcome Impact : Sh. Bhagat Singh Negi, Vill- Sarna, block Pabou (Pauri Garhwal) practiced traditional farming. The productivity of tomato, capsicum etc were very low and the produce was not even sufficient for his family. He contacted KVK, Bharsar scientist and enquired about high yielding variety of tomatoes, capsicum and other vegetables. Scientists visited his field and suggested him to cultivate Heemsona variety of tomato during Kharif, 2014 and also laid demonstration trials (FLD) of other vegetables in his field. Package of practice to be followed was explained in detail. Under the supervision of scientist he raised 2 nalis tomatoes and earned net profit of Rs. 60,000/-.
On achieving this success under the guidance of scientist he started cultivating improved varieties of crops like capsicum, brinjal, French bean, bottle gourd, raddish, summer squash, cucumber, cabbage, cauliflower etc. He has earned total net profit of Rs. 1.5 lakhs by selling theses vegetables. In Rabi 2014-15 he grew pea variety Arkel on recommendation and supervision by the KVK and earned a net profit of Rs. 55000/- from 2 nali (400 m2) land only. His success has inspired farmers from his village to grow vegetables for better returns. At present time he is taking the off season vegetable cultivation as his main source of earning for his family and by this his living standards has been uplifted which has also encouraged the nearby villager farmers to adopt the same with the help of KVK Bharsar.
